Killer Concert Almost Killed Us

OK- maybe I am being a bit dramatic- but for anyone who knows the band we saw in concert, it will probably produce a chuckle and for everyone else, you can get clued in by listening here.

So on Tuesday night (sorry we had to miss your birthday dad- promise to celebrate soon!) this week after work we headed to Asheville for The Hold Steady (http://theholdsteady.net/) concert at the Orange Peel.

(Quality not so great- but it is the best David's phone camera could do)
We had never been to a show there, and this particular band never seems to make a stop in Charlotte. In fact a few years ago, David and a friend drove to Chapel Hill on a week night without tickets to try and see the band. They were able to buy some in the parking lot and seriously enjoyed the show. Well they must have, seeing as we set out on another week night adventure to Asheville. Luckily this time, we planned ahead and got tickets in advance. We grabbed a yummy dinner at The Noodle Shop (I recommend the Mongolian beef) before heading to the show and sipping on some local brews (I do not recommend Abita Satsuma).

Show ended at around midnight- got back home just after 2:30am. Sometimes I think we are a bit crazy- but it was definitely fun. I wasn't feeling so fun the next morning when I headed to work for an all day meeting with two physicians that had flown in for a work day. Somehow I survived and I am staring Friday in the face! Excited for a weekend at home for the first time in a very long time.
