Go Go Go! - Dublin Day 1

The week we spent in Dublin was a bit of a blur. A really fabulous blur, but one that seemed to go by way too fast. We definitely had time to relax and enjoy each other, but we were also very busy and seemed to "Go Go Go" a lot! I have my precious nephew to thank for that phrase, it was one of his favorites and helps get him going when its time to head out. I give myself a little chuckle now when I find David and I saying this to each other as we try to get out the door headed somewhere.

I will break down the trip into a couple of posts to give it the true credit it is due but I must warn you in advance, we spent a lot of time just playing with Casper, so you will notice a theme when it come to these photos!

When David and I arrived, we learned quickly that another one of Casper's favorite words is "doggie" (and considering Jess and Kalle don't have a dog and as far as I know don't even like dogs, I thought this was pretty funny.) Casper learned quickly that I had pictures of our favorite "doggie" on my phone (Lila Pearl of course) and he loved looking at the pictures of her - or any dog for that matter. I was also impressed with his iPhone aptitude, for a one year old he navigates the device rather well!

The first day we arrived the weather was wonderful, so David and I skipped a nap and headed to the park to see the little guy in action. We said, "Casper, you want to go to the park?" and he replied, "Go Go Go!"

Kalle also told us to, "Go!" he didn't join us at the park so that he could work on some brilliant sketches for the Brownbread Mixtape (stay tuned for more on that). We missed him,  but understood. I actually took this picture not to capture Kalle pointing at us, but to show you their front door. Isn't it cute?

In fact, their neighborhood is adorable! Its especially great because its close to center city, but also feel very residential and is very walkable, so that is what we did, walked a lot. Well, some of us rode...

Doesn't Dave look good for a guy who just got off a transatlantic flight?

At the park, we hit the swings, but Casper wasn't feeling it. So we mostly just watched him walk around chasing balls (another favorite word, "ball").

I know what you are thinking...what a stylish kid, right? I can't take credit for him being hip every day, but I can take credit for this outfit, we sent it to him for his 1st birthday. I mean, what toddler doesn't need a leather jacket?

I had to throw at least one in of David and me, although I realize we aren't nearly as cute.

This is one of David's favorite Casper faces, "the hard stare." He has an amazing talent of staring people down till they give him what he wants. In this instance I think he wanted the camera out of his face, but I love that Jess is smiling!

As the sun started to set, we decided to head back home. Here are a few sites along the walk.

Jess said the rumor is that Colin Farrell's (the famous Irish actor, who I recently heard was involved with Rihanna? anyone know more about that!?) brother owns this place which is around the corner from their place. Whether its true or not, who doesn't love some celebrity gossip, and he does live in Dublin, so its totally possible.

Since Dave and I faded fast that first evening, we spent a quiet evening on Cranfield Place and were just happy to be on vacation.

  1. Love those photos! Kind of want to take that first photo of Casper and pretend he's my own nephew.
